Michael Smith wist door zijn 6-2 overwinning op Gabriel Clemens ook zijn derde halve finale op het PDC WK winnend af te sluiten. Hierdoor komt hij in een rijtje met wereldkampioenen Phil Taylor, Dennis Priestley en John Part. Zij haalden immers, net zoals Bully Boy, minstens drie halve finales op het PDC WK en deze allemaal te winnen. Maar of Michael Smith zich ook tot wereldkampioen mag kronen is natuurlijk nog even afwachten.
